Quote of the week
Hello dear friends and fans,
I hope you enjoyed your week and are just as glad as I am that today is Friday and a relaxing weekend is just around the corner.
The quote is for all that might be out of balance, who need a little boost, a little reminder that keep moving is the best thing you can do. Let me assure you that everyone has rough days that need to be mastered but there will be good times again. Keep moving and you’ll be alright soon.
Let’s watch some more soccer, drink some daiquiris or a fresh beer, let’s enjoy summer and have quality time with our loved ones.
Xo, Lou
P.S. The quotes of the week are still (and always) available in two sizes for your desktop to download. Just click on the image and you’ll be redirected to my Flickr where you can save the wallpaper right on your PC or Mac.

99 red balloons for a cause!
Yesterday I discovered this tweet by Kimberly
The deal is that “every year for the past three, in september, my mama does a 150 mile bikeride to raise money and awareness for research towards a cure for MS (multiple sclerosis)” and Kimberly decided to stitch 99 air balloons to donate the money from the sales to the fund.
On her blog she asks people to send her sketches of hot air balloons that she can stitch and since I think this is a wonderful project for a greate cause I just drew one that I’ll send her to this address:
kimberly scola/chez-sucre-chez, 5074 glen iris avenue, los angeles, CA 90041
I really feel that I had to spread the word here and I ask you to participate as well. Please check out her blog for further information.
Kimberly has an awesome Etsy shop where she sells the most adorable cross stitch kits. Do you remember my Home Sweet Home project? One of hers! :-) Just saying.

My second Quilt – Part two
The top for the chevron quilt is done. The last fabric arrived and so I could add two more rows. It turned out bigger than I thought (M had to hold the top for the image ’cause he’s really tall). The actual size is 125 x 145 cm (50″ x 57″), 7 x 8 squares, 56 single squares, 112 triangles.
This afternoon I’ll by the interfacing and hopefully can complete the blanket this weekend. The worldcup is kinda dominating my schedule these days ;-)

IF I…
I’m a little late with my Monday post about wishful thinking. Yesterday I was soooo excited about the italian game I couldn’t concentrate :-) There we go!
… COULD BE FAMOUS FOR ONE THING
it would be for being a bestselling author that writes amazing stories. Just like Mario Puzo, J.K. Rowling, Stephanie Klein or Karyn Bosnak. I admire people who can tell good stories and entertain people by writing them down. A book can influence people’s lives in many ways and carry you away for an instant and I would love to be someone who can do that. I remember reading my first Harry Potter book. I was thrilled by Rowling’s fantasy and her ability to create pictures in my head that would be there even years later. I kept on reading Harry Potter just because I loved what happened to me while I read the book, the imagination in my head. I read a lot and basically everything that comes in my hand. A lot of biographies, too. A person who writes down another person’s story is a hero in my eyes. Did you read Rubin Carter’s story by James S. Hirsch?! AMAZING! Touching and written down with an amazing empathy.
The ability to enhance many people with my book would be something I’d be proud of. My own book. My own ISBN number. Being the talk of the town. Oh my. That would be something I’d like to be famous for.
My top 5 favorite books are
because they’re entertaining, creative, touching and just fantastic.
Now tell me: What would you like to be famous for?

What home means to me
Today is my turn in Victoria’s blogger mashup PIN IT FORWARD. Victoria from sfgirlbybay invited 300 bloggers to write a post about “what home means to me” using Pinterest - a place where you can make visual pinboards, share things you love and found on the net, peek at other people’s boards and get inspired. You can tag, like and comment on all pinned items, follow boards, create your own boards with different themes… It’s a great tool to play with. All the 300 bloggers are separated in 10 groups and 10 will blog each day.
Now let me tell you what home means to me.
My home is my castle, the place where I am myself, where I hide, where my things are, the place that makes me feel good, where I always look forward being after a vacation or a day at work. It’s my jewel that I take care of. My home is in my birth town that I really love, my family and my friends are near, it’s where I work, where I spend most of my time.
Home is my number one spot.
Home is where we relax and have great evenings together
Home is where I’m creative and can play with all kinds of materials.
Home is where my books are.
Home is where we come together.
Home is where my life is shaped and where I am myself.
Home is a beautiful place.
Home is cozy.
Home is where flowers are always present.
Home is where we are!
If you like you can have a look on all the boards I created so far. Though I used some private pictures here most images can be found on Pinterest. I hope you liked this little tour and just in case you can’t get enough check out the other blogs that are posting today:
* making chicken salad * the wife of an artist * je voudrais que * road to wonder * fuzzy green lights * robyn blaikie collins * simply modern mom * luscious detail and a girl and a camera
and citizen cathy who’s right after me in my group. :-)
