ich habe wirklich gerade eine richtig blöde zeit. das komplette büro ist in ein neues gebäude gezogen, alles ist neu und anders und ungewohnt, es stellt sich nicht der hauch eines weihnachtlichen gefühls bei mir ein, im büro sind alle gestresst und genervt und ich muss noch bis zum heilig abend sitzen und arbeiten. als wenn die welt sich nicht weiter drehen würde, wenn wir jetzt mal für eine woche keine werbung mehr machen würden. naja. und weil wir alle so doof drauf sind und ich meine kollegen wirklich schätze habe ich letztens kleine aufmunterungs-geschenke gebastelt.

i’m really in a bad funk these days. the whole office moved to another building, everything is new and weird, everybody is stressed and in a bad mood. i have no christmas feeling whatsoever and i’ll sit in my office until christmas eve. as if the world stood still if we stopped making advertising for a week. and because we’re all in the same bad situation i’ve made some little gifts for my dear colleagues.

mein creativ director norbert bekommt eine schachtel kreativität.

meine sitznachbarin und leidensgenossin klaudi, die genauso am rad dreht wie ich, bekam eine schachtel ruhig blut.

my colleague klaudi who is as stressed as i am got a box of calmness that will remind her to keep breathing.

und meine schiwa bekam eine schachtel gelassenheit.

and my dear schiwa got a box of serenity to remind her that everything will be ok.

dazu habe ich auf ebay kleine weiße streichholz-schachteln für 1 € geschossen, sie mit washi-tape beklebt und innen ein kleines motiv auf dickere pappe gedruckt und auf ein stück moosgummi geklebt, damit ein3D effekt entsteht. ganz simpel eigentlich, aber sie sind wirklich hübsch. schöne kleine geschenke. die idee habe ich von kim welling geklaut. von ihr habe ich einmal so eine kleine schachtel gekauft und die steht seitdem bei mir auf dem schreibtisch. sie ist ganz zauberhaft und ich dachte, ich kann meine kollegen mit so einer kleinen box auch aufheitern. aber eben für sie persönlich zugeschnitten.

for this project i’ve bought white match boxes on ebay for 1 € and decorated them with washi tape. inside there is a little visual on heavy cardboard glued on a piece of foam to get a 3D effect. very simple but a very lovely gift. i was inspired by kim welling from who i’ve bought an “instant comfort pocket box”. this box is sitting on my office desk and makes me smile. therefore i’ve thought it would be nice for my colleagues to have one of their own, just a little personalized.

it’s my 2.5 day on the couch and though i can’t really concentrate on doing something i feel very bored. that has also a lot to do with the ridiculous tv program during the day. so while i’m watched bad tv i did a little project to light up my mood.

since i rarely wear jewelry but still like a some adornment i’ve made a cloud brooch (again) from a piece of felt.

first i cut out a cloud shaped piece, stitched around with blue yarn and then attached colorful buttons and the brooch needle. easy.

my current jacket is made of wool felt so they make a great match. love these small and quick projects… :-)

ich muss euch was zeigen! die caro hat vor einigen wochen zpagetti yarn gekauft und gebloggt und ich war so entzückt und wollte auch welches haben. zufällig war ich nämlich zu der zeit dabei, überall nach t-shirt yarn zu suchen und da kam das natürlich wie gerufen. einige tage später waren dann 3 kilo (!!) garn in der post. nun die frage: was mach ich damit? das zeug ist echt schwer und nachdem ich mich dann mal hingesetzt hatte um ein bisschen damit zu stricken und zu häkeln, habe ich festgestellt 1. nach 20 minuten tun die finger weh! 2. so richtig schön sieht das ergebnis nicht aus und 3. das ergebnis ist auch ganz schön schwer (ach!). i have to show and tell you something! some weeks ago my friend caro blogged about the zpagetti yarn and i fell in love with it instantly and HAD to get me some. back then i heard about t-shirt yarn and really wanted to try out to make something from it. days later 3 kilos (!) of yarn arrived and now i had to find me a nice project. i sat down and began to knit it and realized 3 things 1. 20 minutes into the project and my fingers hurt 2. the result didn’t look very nice and 3. the result was heavy like shit!

also hier nur mal  zum vergleich kopf und garnspule! ist das nicht verrückt?  the bobbin is almost as big as my head! isn’t that crazy??

ich habe mir dann letztendlich auf etsy ein häkelmuster für einen teppich besorgt und mit einer 12er häkelnadel losgelegt. also bzw… erst mal über youtube häkeln gelernt um zu verstehen, welcher stich wie heißt und wie geht und nach ca. 1,5 stunden war es dann soweit, dass man schon ein bisschen was erkennen konnte. vor allem erkannte ich, dass meine strippe nicht reichen wird. und ich wußte auch am nächsten tag nicht mehr, bei welcher reihe ich bin und weiß der geier, warum ich mitten in der reihe aufgehört habe. finally i’ve found a rug pattern on etsy and after watching a ton of crochet tutorials on youtube i started. after 1.5 hrs i could finally identify something and i also realized that my yarn won’t last until the rug is finished. and stupid as i am i forgot to write down which row i’m crocheting and god knows why i quit in the middle of the row.

was ich euch eigentlich mitteilen möchte ist folgendes: ihr werdet zpagetti in nächster zeit ganz oft im blogland begegnen (und auch im wollgeschäft oder auf dem stoffmarkt) und vielleicht wollt ihr auch auf den zug aufspringen. die garne sind wirklich hübsch. es gibt die einfarbig aber auch mit muster (das garn ist aus stoff”müll” aus der industrie hergestellt und demnach sind die gemusterten auch arg limitiert. wenn weg, dann weg). aber das material ist wirklich schwer zu verarbeiten und ich finde für häkelanfänger wie mich, obwohl ich mich wirklich überall reinsteigern kann, nicht so wirklich geeignet. ich bin gespannt wann mein teppich fertig wird und vor allem auch, was ich mit den restlichen 2 kilo machen soll. wenn sie jemand haben will, schickt mir eine email. zum selbstkostenpreis (8 €) + versand gehören sie euch. what i’m trying to say here is: you might see zpagetti all over blogland and in stores as well and you might want to try it out. the yarns are really beautiful. they come in solid colors and patterned (they’re basically industrial fabric leftovers and very limited) but be aware that whatever you do from it will be super heavy and i wouldn’t consider them to be suitable for crochet beginners (though i’m really ambitious). i really can’t tell when i’ll finish my rug nor do i know what to do with the other 2 bobbins. if you want to have one of those drop me an email. i’ll give them away for the actual retail price (8€) + shipping.

ja es gibt so projekte. erinnert ihr euch an mein anti-tutorial? da war ich auch erst guter dinge und dann… ich mach jetzt einfach wieder was, das spaß macht! yes, there are projects like this. remember my anti-tutorial? shit happens and now i’ll move on to more enjoyable projects! :-)

today i’ve made a small gift for my little baby niece that was easy to make. while looking through the many pictures i’ve taken of her last weekend there was one wonderful portrait of her which i’ve painted on a onesie.

first i’ve printed out the picture of her and cut it out. drew a line around the stencil – with a magic marker that washes out easily – and once again with a t-shirt pen to have a bold black outline. the rest was just dabbing black fabric paint on the shirt to have this lovely silhouette.

llet it dry and fixed with an iron. fertig in 15 minutes. really easy and it looks really cool. can’t wait to give it to her. :-)

i’m so not an easter decoration girl. i love the season and the family get together with loads of food but i will not decorate the home or do something special for easter. sometimes it takes until march until i get rid of the xmas decoration… but no you don’t have to miss the tutorial wednesday here on happy serendipity.

a great idea from BHG – fabric covered eggs. THOSE are super great. i must admit it.

i’m tempted to do this too all eggs in the future.
