little boxes of joy

i’m really in a bad funk these days. the whole office moved to another building, everything is new and weird, everybody is stressed and in a bad mood. i have no christmas feeling whatsoever and i’ll sit in my office until christmas eve. as if the world stood still if we stopped making advertising for a week. and because we’re all in the same bad situation i’ve made some little gifts for my dear colleagues.

eine schachtel kreativität

mein creativ director norbert bekommt eine schachtel kreativität.

my creative director norbert got a box of creativity.

eine schachtel ruhig blut

meine sitznachbarin und leidensgenossin klaudi, die genauso am rad dreht wie ich, bekam eine schachtel ruhig blut.

my colleague klaudi who is as stressed as i am got a box of calmness that will remind her to keep breathing.

eine schachtel gelassenheit

und meine schiwa bekam eine schachtel gelassenheit.

and my dear schiwa got a box of serenity to remind her that everything will be ok.

for this project i’ve bought white match boxes on ebay for 1€ and decorated them with washi tape. inside there is a little visual on heavy cardboard glued on a piece of foam to get a 3D effect. very simple but a very lovely gift. i was inspired by kim welling from who i’ve bought an “instant comfort pocket box”. this box is sitting on my office desk and makes me smile. therefore i’ve thought it would be nice for my colleagues to have one of their own, just a little personalized.

lovely package exchange

dani of oh hello friend hosted the lovely package exchange again this year and i’ve was very happy when she told me that i have an exchange partner from germany. iris and i wrote some emails beforehand and got to know each other a bit though i must admit she had to be patient with me as it took me a while to react. i checked out her blog and though she’s a newbie in the blog scene i love her blog since she shares things i don’t see so often around other blogs and it’s truly a source of inspiration. i’m glad i’ve met her.

she sent me a beautiful wrapped package and when i opened it it revealed lots of tiny packages filled with the most amazing things.

lovely package exchange

there were 3 christmas cards with blue stars stamped on the front. 3 more cards with birds printed on maps and sewed on the card. i love them especially because they’re handmade and they smell delicious. it’s weird to say but they really smell like a good perfume. a very good one. furthermore there was a small bird stamp and a handwritten note on a card with music paper and a golden locket. the stamp came out of a vintage coffee tin that is in my favorite colors.

pack exchange

i really love all my goodies and i appreciate the very nice packaging. and i’m happy that i’ve met iris and hope i’ll meet her someday. she doesn’t live too far. yay.

christmas packaging inspiration

i’m so swamped with work in the office these days the next weekend will be the only time i have for preparing and wrapping my gifts. though it’s the season of reflectiveness and tranquility it seems to me it’ll be a season full of stress and being hectic (it’s not me; it’s them!) and since all my inspiration is gone and my brain is empty i had to check on pinterest for some nice ideas and of course, i’ve found some. i love all those images here. the combination of twine and kraft paper is really cozy and appeals to me a lot. that will be my ultimate solution this year and i hope my family and friends will like it too. packing things in jars or cans is awesome too. i’ll check our home for all kinds of containers and see what will happen. do you have special wrapping ideas?

oh and more inspiration can be found on my friend suze’s blog. she had piper from one sydney road over to tell about her favorite ways of packaging and furthermore she tells about a new wrapping trend. check it out.

We only want you for your body!

That is the claim of “Anatomicals” – a producer of the funniest toiletries I’ve ever seen. I’ve found this brand in a cute little internet store called Bertine and chuckled all the way through the gallery of their products. “snog me senseless” turned out to be a lip balm, “help the paw” a handcream, “i’m a woman, hear me snore” a sleeping mask. Too funny. I ordered the hand cream and shampoo (for the name look at the image. I dare not write its name here. You can’t imagine the spam comments I received when I blogged about the **** and your blog journal…!)

giving good

I could not resist. On the bright colored packaging label you have a text that explains the product in a humorous way. Everything is made with natural ingredients, smells very good and is not animal tested. Their range contains body care for women and men, remedies (herbal patches) and accessories.

These are definitely products seeing and smelling them put you in a good mood. In Europe you can buy them directly in their shop or at Amazon UK, in the US you can buy them at HQ Hair. Too good!

Colorful gift wrapping

The other day I went to a local craft shop that my brother works with very close and bought some (unbelievably expensive) great sheets of colored paper. Actually I was looking for something else but since they didn’t have it that paper was screaming “buy me, buy me! pretty blue! juicy pink! joyful orange! get me! get me!” Yeah. So… I got them all and since I have no use for paper right now *sigh* I wrapped up some mini purses that I’ve made for my girlfriends. Think it’s pretty cool to sew paper and I’ve never been a fan of plastic tape. So looking forward receiving my 10 rolls of pastel washi paper masking tape :-) which could be a nice addition to any gift wrap.
I used simple brown and blue packaging paper. The paper with the hearts is sold in stores right now as Valentine’s day is coming up. I cut random pieces of the colored paper and zig-zag stitched it on the paper. Fold. Zig-Zag stitch all around. Done in 10 minutes (per pack). Do you like it?
