schnick schnack shopping
some weeks ago i’ve came across a german blog i didn’t know before and saw she was attending a craft show that was supposed to be here in my area. 15 minutes down the highway. i checked out their homepage and realized that schnick schnack shopping is the first craft show around frankfurt that i got to know about. so of course i had to go and i’m so glad i did because i met many wonderful crafters and had nice chats with them.

it was like the craft show that i’ve seen on many pictures on american blogs and it was like heaven. and how much i would have loved to have my own stand there. they were fantastic!
susalabim’s stand was my favorite. she is such a talent!
mausing’s stand was so friendly and she had great summer bags!
with silke of “fuer grosse maedchen” (for big girls) i had a lovely chat. all of her things were so neat and cheerful.
this is what i’ve bought at the end
a pack of “choose your weapons” buttons from nirtak. * a crown cork button saying ” a bit of anger in the blood is good for the heart” and this shirt from cover me, i’m reloading! * and another button from nicole park. it’s a nude woman with 2 black pearls on her boobies. i’m a big fan of such absurd things and wearing it every day ever since i have it :-) * an iron-on boat from Dachsdessert. she had a beautiful collection of iron-on patches that it was hard to choose. the little boat was just adorable.
and finally this tea towel with a screen print from i love mixtapes. it’s just hysterical.

i’ve collected loads of business cards from all stand that i loved so i won’t forget them. unfortunately i’ve been to the fabric market before this event and had a small budget for that day. there were so many things i would have loved to get.
juime creates dolls that made me freak out. twice i cuddled all single dolls because they were to die for!! i mean… look at that shop!!
miss rathen stayed in my mind because she was the first i talked to and who was such a super friendly soul and had so many gorgeous items. her stand was creative and pure eye candy (i was too shy to take a picture but you can believe me).
very impressive were the book stands from susalabim. she has a certain style to draw that i love. her stand was an overload of happiness. really. so beautiful.
and maedchenwahn was there, too! she is a dawanda superstar and i was glad seeing her goods there. she was in a conversation otherwise i would have loved to say hi and pay her a compliment. she has a shop at dawanda but as well one on etsy. yay. she was the only one there to have one.
man my heart for the handmade beats even faster now after that event. it was such a great atmosphere and it was great meeting so many crafty souls there. i’ve never felt so understood :-) now i can’t wait to have a stand myself on one of the next events. i’m glad craft shows have finally hit germany (or maybe i was just living in a bubble).
