felt charger home

today i want to show you how to make a nice charger cozy in which you wan put your phone or ipod while they charge. all you need is a piece of thick felt and a leftover piece of fabric. you can do this even if you don’t have a sewing machine. it’s really easy.

für heute habe ich eine praktische ladestation aus dickem filz vorbereitet, die man  sogar mit der hand nähen kann, wenn man keine nähmaschine besitzt. es ist ganz ganz einfach.

the felt is 3 mm thick and 10 x 20 cm big. the fabric has the size 12 x 10 cm.

ich habe mir ein stück filz zugeschnitten im format 10 x 20 cm (bxh). das stück baumwoll-leinen ist 12 x 10 cm.

with a magic marker (that resolves when you spray water on it) i drew a circle

mit dem magic marker (kann man mit wasser wieder unsichtbar machen) habe ich einen kreis gezeichnet…

and cut it out. i recommend to not make such a big hole (as i did here) because it becomes a bit unstable when the bag holds a phone. after that i’ve sewn all around the hole to make it more stable. a decorative stitch looks awesome here.

… und das loch mit einem skalpell ausgeschnitten. (tip: im nachhinein weiß ich, daß das loch etwas zu breit im durchmesser ist. ein kleineres loch wäre besser.) jetzt habe ich das loch verstärkt indem ich direkt am lochrand einen zierstich genäht habe.

for the holding bag i’ve folded the upper part of the fabric and sewed the seam. afterwards i sewed all around to attach the bag. at the bottom i’ve made a little fold so that the bag becomes spacious to hold the device.

das stück baumwoll-leinen habe ich oben 2mal umgeschlagen und versäumt. links und rechts und unten auch einmal eingeschlagen und mit einem zierstich an den filz genäht. unten habe ich eine kleine falte gelegt, denn wenn der beutel mit einem telefon oder ipod gefüllt werden soll, braucht man ja platz. und mit dieser kleinen falte wird der platz geschaffen.

that’s all it. doesn’t it look all neat and tidy? you have plenty of possibilities to adorn this cozy with ribbons and decorating stitches. i love it when it’s simple. but there are no limits. have fun!

dann kann man sein gerät anstöpseln und das laden kann beginnen. so ist alles hübsch ordentlich aufgehängt. wer möchte, kann natürlich das ganze noch aufwändiger verzieren. dem sind keine grenzen gesetzt!
