rainbow tank top
today let’s make a rainbow tank top. we’re having -6 effing degrees here in frankfurt and i’m freezing my lil’ butt off but nevertheless i took some colorful threads and stitched a rainbow on one of my rib tank tops.
i’ve made marks in the middle so the stitches wouldn’t be straight!
after that i stitched color after color down the tank top, not minding spacing, i just tried to be straight down the ribs (which was pretty easy).
5 colors later i’ve made some nice knots and was done.
and that’s how it looks like when finished. when i have more time i’ll stitch up the front completely so it will be one colorful front. that’s the plan!

i create the content of this blog with great care and lots of effort. if you find something on happy serendipity and write about it please mention it as the source and credit it on your blog, website, or in the pages of your publication. a link back is always appreciated. thank you!

thats really cool. some days i’ve tried to stich on a t-shirt, too. it wasn’t so cool, ’cause the shirt was so stretchy. did you have problems with that, too?
greetings silva
hello silvia, no i didn’t have problems. when you stitch on a normal shirt you have to iron on an interface on the left side of the shirt to stabilize the fabric. here in german that’s called “stickvlies”. after you’ve stitched you can remove it – or it washes away after some time. depends on the brand.
here for the shirt i wanted the stitches to be a littlebit loose. i think i have to stretch it into form after washing but that’s totally ok. :-)
You’re a genius! I so love this idea.

I just moved to Wiesbaden from the states. I was wondering if you could recommend some fabric stores in the area?
